What platform we offer
With its three subject sections, KONTEC offers the appropriate platform for comprehensive information on all aspects of radioactive waste management, in which the status report of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research "BMBF" on the research projects under the title "Decommissioning and dismantling of nuclear facilities" is also embedded.
Format of the plenary lectures
Content & Formats
You will present the plenary lecture in the plenary hall (rooms 4 & 5) of the ICD in Dresden to a large expert audience.
A total time frame of 20 or 30 minutes is planned for the plenary presentations, including about 5-10 minutes for discussion time.
Plenary lectures will be simultaneously translated DE/EN and EN/DE.
Format of KONTEC DIREKT
Short lectures in words & pictures
KONTEC DIREKT offers the possibility of an in-depth and specific presentation of a topic in a moderated short lecture.
These lectures will be presented in the rooms on the conference level.
The speakers have a time frame of 15 minutes, including discussion time.
Simultaneous translation of the KONTEC DIREKT short presentations is not planned.
Format of the
Digital poster presentations
The digital posters will be presented in the Speaker's Corner within the trade exhibition. The Speaker's Corner is located in the large hall on the left of the stage.
You have a maximum of 10 minutes for your presentation.
The lectures take place in one-hour slots with 6 lectures each. Therefore, it would be nice if you were available to talk to interested listeners near the corner after the slot.
Simultaneous translation of the KONTEC DIREKT short presentations is not planned.
Note: After acceptance of the presentations, we ask you to submit the full paper of your KONTEC 2025 presentation (in German or English). The full papers will be made available to participants afterwards via password-protected access.
To ensure better understanding for KONTEC participants who do not speak foreign languages, the presentation slides for KONTEC 2025 are requested in English, as was the case at previous events.

To submit your presentation, please use the abstract management system .
The lecture registration can only be submitted digitally together with a short description (abstract). Unfortunately, registrations/submissions of a specialist paper submitted in any other way cannot be considered.

When submitting your contribution, please indicate whether you are aiming for a plenary lecture, a poster or a KONTEC DIREKT. In the course of the process of compiling the KONTEC 2025 conference program, the program committee will decide on the acceptance and placement of your submission.
Short Description vs. Lecture
The short description you submit in the first step will be used by the program committee to select and compile the presentations.
The short descriptions should be a maximum of 2,500 characters (including spaces). They give you the opportunity to present to the program committee the main topics, the methodology, the results and the most important conclusions that you want to address in your presentation. You have the option of uploading photos.
At the same time, it will later give the audience an overview of the topics covered in your presentation.
Call for Papers
The lecture itself must only be made available at a later date and in the form of the lecture to be presented. That is, as a presentation (ppt or pdf format) as it will be presented by you as a speaker at KONTEC. The slides are part of the digital publication for the guests of KONTEC.
Language
For the selection process by the program committee, the abstract can be submitted in German or English. The presentation should preferably be in English.
Topic group
Please classify your presentation into one of the listed topic groups (sections).
Speaker and participants
The personal details must be those of the speaker. Other participants and/or a second speaker should also be provided. All relevant information, such as notifications to the authors about the acceptance of the presentation, will be sent to the contact details provided.
After selecting the abstracts
After acceptance of the plenary presentation, we ask you to submit the full paper of your KONTEC 2025 presentation (in German or English). The full papers will be made available to participants afterwards via password-protected access.
For better understanding for foreign-language KONTEC participants, as at previous events, the presentation slides for KONTEC 2025 are requested in English. The plenary lecture can still be held in German, but there will be simultaneous translation.

By accepting the presentation at KONTEC, the copyright is transferred to Kontec Gesellschaft für technische Kommunikation mbH (Kontec GmbH).
By accepting a lecture at one of our specialist events, the speaker grants KONTEC GmbH free usage rights to the lecture. In addition to the right to pre-print, reprint and translation into other languages, these include all usual online and offline or print, reproduction and distribution rights, in particular publication in the online program.
The person submitting the presentation guarantees and assures that the contribution submitted is free of third-party intellectual property rights and that publication by KONTEC GmbH does not infringe any property, patent, license, trademark or other intellectual property rights of third parties. The person submitting the presentation indemnifies KONTEC GmbH and its partners and contractors from third-party claims arising from any infringement of intellectual property rights and also bears all costs incurred by KONTEC GmbH and its partners and contractors in this connection. In this context, KONTEC GmbH and its partners and contractors are entitled to obtain permission to publish the relevant content from the authorized party at the expense of the person submitting the presentation.
Acceptance of the lecture does not release you from registering for the conference and paying the participation fee.*
*The participation fee includes full-day participation including all lectures & special events within KONTEC on all three days from September 17th to 19th, 2025 and the costs are expected to be €1,150 net in the Early Bird (normal price €1,250 net). Advance ticket sales start in spring 2025.
